Adam Bagni ABC 32 News | Career
He was the General Manager of WEXP and the play-by-play voice for campus radio sports broadcasts while at La Salle. He also contributed to the Collegian as a writer. Bagni works at KPNX in Phoenix as an anchor/reporter and also helps to the station’s investigative team. He formerly worked as a reporter and the Massachusetts bureau reporter for WHDH in Boston. For WJAR, he is also a sports anchor/reporter. He also worked on the radio as a flash anchor on WEEI during his stay there. He was previously the Sports Director at WNCF. In March 2011, he quit the station.
Prior to joining WNCF, Adam worked as a production assistant for the Boston Red Sox and Bruins at New England Sports Network (NESN), where he worked as an editor and writer, among other things. He is a La Salle University graduate who worked as the General Manager of WEXP-AM 1600 in Philadelphia. Adam was the Explorers’ Division-I athletics play-by-play announcer at WEXP. Adam Bagni was also a successful columnist for The Collegian and a regular on CSTV’s La Salle basketball broadcasts. Adam has also worked as a PA for ESPN, FOX Sports, and NBC during remote broadcasts from the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino.
Adam moved to Montgomery from his birthplace of Taunton, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston, in February 2008. Bagni covered numerous important local sports stories during his time in Alabama, including two Heisman Trophy winners, two BCS National Championships, and SEC college basketball. Adam can usually be seen playing YMCA Soccer or Lagoon Park Softball when he’s not at the ABC 32 studios. He also believes in community involvement, from reading to local elementary school children to speaking to University of Alabama Communication students (don’t worry, Auburn fans, he’s had Tiger interns). The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has nominated Bagni for many Emmy Awards. The National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association, as well as the Alabama Broadcasters Association, have given him awards.
