Shelley Brown is an American broadcast journalist, anchor, and reporter who presently works for WVUE FOX 8 in New Orleans, Louisiana, as an anchor and reporter. Shelley began working at FOX 8 in September of 2008. On H-TV, she also hosted a 30-minute talk show. She then went on to anchor KPLC-weekday TV’s morning news in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Shelley joined FOX 8 the day after Hurricane Gustav made landfall in Louisiana in September 2008. She’s a New Orleans native who recently returned home after working for WTOL-TV in Toledo, OH, where she was the weekday 5:30 p.m. anchor and a general task correspondent. Shelley attended New Orleans’ Mount Carmel Academy and Louisiana State University. Shelley is a four-time Edward R. Murrow honoree, most recently for her work on FOX 8 Defenders, which included a limo examination. Shelley was known in Ohio for “Best Newscast, News 11 at Five,” a series of analytical stories, “Children for Sale,” and “Katrina: Back Home,” a first-person report on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Shelley interned for Court TV and WNYW-TV FOX 5 in New York City before earning a degree in communication news coverage from LSU.
