Michael Smerconish is an American radio host and television presenter, as well as a newspaper columnist, author, and lawyer. He is presently the anchor of CNN’s weekly Saturday TV show “Smerconish.” He is also the host of The Michael Smerconish Show on SiriusXM’s POTUS Channel 124, where he is a newspaper critic, author, and lawyer. Smerconish has written seven books, six of which are nonfiction and one of which is fiction. He is also a member of the Kline & Specter law firm in Philadelphia.

After a successful tenure as a morning drive host for CBS in Philadelphia, he was previously nationally syndicated in more than 100 areas on terrestrial radio. In 2014, he launched his own CNN show. “Smerconish” airs on CNN on Saturday mornings at 9:00 a.m. EST, and he is a frequent guest on other CNN shows.
Clowns to My Left, Jokers to My Right: American Life in Columns is his most recent book. “Clowns” is a collection of 100 newspaper articles, each with a contemporary afterword, culled from Smerconish’s 1,047 essays in the Philadelphia Daily News and Sunday Philadelphia Inquirer in the 15 years after 9/11. The book spawned a speaking tour entitled “American Life in Columns,” in which the author shared stories from the book with live audiences in more than two dozen small theaters around the country. Smerconish was preparing to embark on a new tour called “Things I Wish I Knew Before I Started Talking,” a one-man show marking his 30th anniversary in talk radio, when the epidemic struck in March of 2020.
