Dee Dee Myers ( born Margaret Jane “Dee Dee” Myers ) is a political analyst who served as the 19th White House Press Secretary during the Clinton administration’s first two years. She was the first woman to occupy the position, and she was also the second youngest. Myers then worked as a West Wing analyst and co-hosted the CNBC news show Fair Time.

Although Myers is generally referred to as the youngest White House Press Secretary, Richard Nixon’s press secretary, Ron Ziegler, was 29 when he started in January 1969.

Until September 1994, when she was named Assistant to the President, she had the lower-ranking position of “deputy assistant” and was paid less than the past White House Press Secretaries. She also lacked apparent ties to Clinton’s inner group. This was also mentioned in Myers’ press reports during her term, and it is detailed in her 2008 book Why Women Should Rule The World.
Myers has been a contributor to Vanity Fair since July 1995, first as editor of Washington and subsequently as editor-in-chief since 1997. She is the author of Why Women Should Rule the World, a New York Times best-selling book about women in leadership, and her own experience in the White House, which was published in 2008. His writing has also featured in the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Time, The Washington Post, O: Oprah Magazine, Politico, and The Huffington Post, among other publications.
Myers has been called to speak at different forums after leaving the White House, generally about women’s rights, the media, and politics. She became a brand spokesman for Jones New York’s Inspire Your Faith campaign in 2011 and was featured as a model in the campaign.
