He worked full-time as a news anchor/editor for KPRC, a CBS Radio station in Houston, TX, after graduating from high school. Dan graduated from Iowa State University’s Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communication. He worked as a reporter for KCCI-TV while in college, covering the 2004 VEISHEA riot. Dan won “First Place TV Reporting” at the Hearst Journalism Awards Championship in San Francisco later that year.
