Mitchell served as NBC News’ chief White House correspondent after covering Bill Clinton from the New Hampshire primary through the 1992 presidential campaign. Mitchell was the network’s top congressional correspondent from 1988 to 1992, where he covered the budget, the savings and loan crisis, the Clarence Thomas hearings, and other legislative matters. She was also a panelist in the second Bush-Dukakis presidential debate and a regular political analyst on “TODAY.”
