Jennifer Bellamy Biography

Jennifer Bellamy is a talented American reporter and anchor who has made quite a name for herself as the evening anchor at Atlanta’s 11Alive. She co-anchors the 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts and has been with the station since April 2015. A proud Gwinnett County native, she grew up in Atlanta and is thrilled to be back in her hometown.

Before her return, Bellamy honed her skills at News19 WLTX, where she started as a general assignment and political reporter before being promoted to weekend anchor. During her time there, she tackled significant political stories and had the chance to interview notable figures like Herman Cain, Rick Perry, and Nikki Haley. Her hard work paid off when she was part of the News19 team that received the prestigious Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award in 2015 for exceptional local investigative reporting.

Bellamy kicked off her journalism journey at 13WMAZ, where she took on roles as a reporter, producer, and fill-in anchor. She even hosted interactive segments like “Get Answers,” where she addressed viewer questions, and presented the “Golden Spatula” to restaurants based on their cleanliness, all while reporting on low health inspection scores.

Bellamy works at 11Alive where she works alongside other famous 11Alive anchors, reporters, meteorologists, and sports anchors. Jennifer began her career at 13WMAZ in Macon, Georgia, as a reporter, producer, and fill-in anchor. She also had shows on the network, answering fan questions on a weekly basis through “Get Answers,” giving the Golden Spatula to clean facilities and reporting on low health inspection results. She went on to serve as a general assignment and political reporter for News19 in Columbia, South Carolina, before being elevated to weekend anchor. She met with a number of presidential candidates during her tour, including Herman Cain and former Texas Governor Rick Perry, as well as former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley.

Bellany also won the Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Awards for Outstanding Local Television Investigative Reporting in 2015 with the News19 team. Following the deaths of children and reports of difficulties at the state agency, she contributed to ongoing coverage of the South Carolina Department of Social Services.
