Adam formerly worked as a sports anchor at both KPTV (FOX) and KGW (NBC) in Portland for ten years. Bjaranson has won multiple honors for broadcasting quality, including “Television Sports Announcer of the Year” from the Oregon Association of Broadcasters in 2008 and the Associated Press Award for “Best Sportscast.” In 1995-96, the Warrenton, Ore. native got his first taste of NBA employment as an intern for the Golden State Warriors radio network. After that, he got his first television position in Coos Bay, Ore., in 1997, and spent the next four years at Kennewick’s KVEW-TV (ABC).
Bjaranson earned his bachelor’s degree in 1995 from Portland State University before attending San Francisco State University to further his broadcasting education. Caddies 4 Cure, the Cole Parker Randall Foundation, Seaside Kids, Inc., Providence Seaside Hospital, and the NW Autism Foundation are just a few of the causes he supports.
