He was nominated for an Emmy in 2014 for his reporting on the heroin and prescription drug epidemic in southwest Ohio. Before coming to Ohio, he worked as an anchor, reporter, producer, and photographer for KLTV, Tyler’s number one station. In Austin, he first caught the television bug while in college, reporting for a student-led, student-run television station and later working as a production assistant at the local NBC affiliate. Later, he worked as a writer and researcher for the WRC-TV market unit in Washington, D.C.
He went live on his first day at Local 10, interviewed presidential candidates, and supported Local 10 in presenting team coverage of the horrific Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando within the first six months. Although the news is not always “good news,” he feels that when it is delivered in a compelling, demonstrative, intelligent, courteous, and honest manner, the effect is always positive.
