Stephanie Sy is an American television journalist and award-winning correspondent who currently works for PBS NewsHour. Throughout her career, she has reported from around the world, covering major international events, natural disasters, conflicts, and political developments for several leading news organizations.
Sy began her broadcast journalism career in 1999 as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WBTW in Florence, South Carolina. After two years there, she moved to WTKR in Norfolk, Virginia, where she specialized in military reporting. Her coverage of military affairs led to a significant career breakthrough when she reported from Iraq as an embedded journalist during the 2003 Iraq War.
