Liz’s desire to communicate with a larger audience grew even stronger when she was admitted. She eventually changed her degree to Communications & Media Studies, which she now considers to be the best decision she’s ever made, though she didn’t realize it at the time. Liz came to Buffalo after graduating from Fordham to pursue a new passion: journalism. She worked as a reporter and producer for the athletic program’s show, “Bengal Magazine,” for four years at Buffalo State College. She then went on to Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications to further her education in Broadcast and Digital Journalism.
Liz returned to Buffalo and resumed her communications profession. She served as a Communications Specialist in Mayor Byron Brown’s Office of Communications, where she wrote, reported, and produced “Buffalo: Youth is Our Future,” a new show. She freelanced as a reporter at WKBW in Buffalo after leaving City Hall, before returning to Boston to visit her sister.
Liz went back to work as a reporter and anchor at WKBW when she returned. Liz worked as a Weekend and Morning Anchor at WILX in Lansing, Michigan, a few years later. In 2018, she returned to her hometown of Buffalo to begin a new career as a Public Relations Manager with The Martin Group.
