Jason WDIV’s Local 4 | Career

Jason spent 14 years as an anchor and reporter at WILX in Lansing. Jason’s career as a journalist was affected by his teachers. Anne Russell was the first, and she helped Jason win the Manatee County Speech Contest while he was in the fifth school. Here, when the speech was written and delivery tips were made, “My Date With Betty Crocker” became a smash hit, and Jason developed an early knack for public speaking. Judy Krocker’s journalism class at Manatee High School used the talent for public speaking a few years later. When he left his job as a sports reporter at WILX in Lansing, he pursued his dream of becoming an anchor on the “TODAY Show.”

Summers and school years were spent, respectively, in Michigan and Florida. He has a journalism degree from Michigan State University and is looking forward to living in “the D.” Because he wants to see more of the world, feel free to approach him with story ideas or request him to host your charity event. Notable accomplishments include: I’m filling in for Regis Philbin on Live! as a guest host. I had an appearance on Regis & Kelly in 2009.
