Gorani was also honored with a News and Documentary Emmy for CNN’s coverage of Egypt’s 2011 revolution, which resulted in the ouster of the country’s then-president, Hosni Mubarak. In early 2009, she hosted The Middle East Challenge, an hour-long special that offered an in-depth and thought-provoking look at the Middle East’s issues and opportunities.
