Claudia Cowan is a well-known American journalist who works as a news correspondent, reporter, and sometimes anchor for Fox News Channel. With over twenty years of experience as a senior correspondent based in San Francisco, she has covered significant stories all over the West Coast.
Cowan kicked off her broadcasting journey at KTTV in Los Angeles, starting from the ground up as a messenger and eventually becoming an on-air reporter. She then moved to KMST-TV in Monterey, California, where she began as a desk assistant and climbed the ranks to become a reporter, the anchor for the noon newscast, and later, the co-anchor for the weekend evening news. During this period, she also honed her skills in producing and editing.
After that, she spent seven years at KOVR-TV in Sacramento, where she reported on breaking news and state politics while anchoring morning and midday shows. In 1995, she made the leap to KRON-TV in San Francisco as an evening news reporter.
In April 1998, Cowan became part of Fox News shortly after the network launched, taking on the role of Bay Area correspondent. Throughout her time there, she has reported on major national events, including the tragic 2014 Isla Vista shootings, where she reported live from the University of California, Santa Barbara campus, the site of the incident.
