Christie Diez (born Christie Ethridge Diez) is an Emmy Award-winning journalist who works as a reporter for Morning Rush, an anchor for 11Alive Weekend Mornings, and the author of the weekly series Behind the Headline. She’s a multi-talented journalist who does her own research, writing, shooting, and editing. Diez formerly served as an anchor and reporter for CBS/NBC station WRDW/WAGT in Augusta, Georgia, for five years. As the only live reporter on location during Category 5 Hurricane Michael in the Gulf of Mexico, she was a vital component of the broadcast that won the Emmy for Best Morning Newscast in 2018.
