Up until September 1994, when she was promoted to Assistant to the President, she held the lower-ranking title of “deputy assistant” and earned less than her predecessors. She also didn’t have strong connections to Clinton’s inner circle, a point that was highlighted in press reports during her time and elaborated on in her 2008 book, Why Women Should Rule The World.
Since July 1995, Myers has been a contributor to Vanity Fair, initially serving as the editor of Washington and later stepping up as editor-in-chief in 1997. She authored the New York Times best-seller Why Women Should Rule the World, which discusses women in leadership and her own experiences in the White House, published in 2008. Her writing has also appeared in notable publications like the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Time, The Washington Post, O: Oprah Magazine, Politico, and The Huffington Post, among others.
