Wikipedia | Biography
Randy White is a well-known American pastor, televangelist, and a strong proponent of prosperity theology. He gained fame as the co-founder of Without Walls International Church, a non-denominational megachurch in Florida that became one of the largest congregations in the U.S. during the late 1990s and early 2000s. White started this church with his then-wife, Paula White, back in 1991.
Without Walls International Church
After its inception, Without Walls International Church saw incredible growth. From 1991 to 1998, the congregation moved three times before finally settling at its Tampa location on North Grady Avenue. By 1999, while services were being held in a large outdoor tent, the church boasted a weekly attendance of around 5,000 people and claimed to be reaching an additional 10,000 individuals through over 230 community outreach ministries.
The ministry continued to expand in 2002 with the launch of a second campus in Lakeland, Florida. At that point, Without Walls had about 14,000 members and was running around 200 ministries dedicated to community service, including job training programs, evangelism in public housing, youth outreach, and various support services. Initially, the church rented the former Carpenter’s Home Church for Saturday evening services, but in 2005, they purchased the property for about $8 million and renamed it Without Walls Central Church.
By 2004, Without Walls International Church had grown to a reported membership of around 20,000, making it the largest church in the Tampa Bay area and one of the biggest in the country. However, as financial difficulties began to surface, the church put its 4,500-seat Tampa sanctuary, along with its 13.3-acre campus, offices, and television production facilities, up for sale in 2008, with an asking price of $30 million. Randy White Stepping Down
On July 12, 2009, Randy White made the tough decision to step down as senior pastor and bishop, mainly due to health issues. His ex-wife, Paula White, took over as the church’s senior leader, while Randy stayed involved with the ministry in a different role. He eventually made his way back to the church staff in July 2012.
The Lakeland campus encountered some serious financial troubles, leading to the closure of Without Walls Central Church in 2011 because of growing debt. In 2014, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court mandated the sale of several church properties as part of the bankruptcy process. The old Lakeland church building was sold to developers the following year and was later torn down. Despite these challenges, Without Walls International Church proudly announced in August 2014 that it had cleared its debts and was moving to a new worship facility in Tampa, signaling an exciting new chapter in the ministry’s journey.

According to the police reports, officers pulled over the then-53-year-old pastor around 11:30 p.m. on March 18, near Ashley Drive and Interstate 275, after noticing his erratic driving. Breathalyzer tests showed his blood alcohol concentration at 0.093% and 0.095%, which is above Florida’s legal limit of 0.08% for impaired driving.
After the incident, White openly admitted to his struggles with alcohol and decided to enter a rehabilitation program later that year.
